The listing marks the license type as Free, so you can download and play this build without paying. The game is also sold on Steam, and the listing encourages supporting the developers by purchasing it there if you want to back the project.

How do I install The Dark Queen of Mortholme?

Download the pre-installed package, extract it into a folder excluded from your antivirus or Defender, install any required apps from the Redist or _CommonRedist folder, and run The Dark Queen of Mortholme.exe as administrator. The game files include an Installation Guide.txt with the detailed steps.

What version is this download?

This is Build 25203189, which the listing marks as the current, latest, and up-to-date build. The listing notes a last Steam update on September 9, 2026, and a page update in October 2026.

What are the system requirements?

You need a 64-bit processor and operating system, with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11 listed as supported. Minimum memory is 2 GB RAM, graphics require 128 MB, and you need 200 MB of available storage space.

Does the game have multiple endings?

Yes. Dialogue choices change how the story plays out, and the game explicitly frames the choice between seeing the Hero's point of view and continuing to rule as the Queen Everlasting. That branching structure supports multiple endings and rewards replaying the short campaign.

Is The Dark Queen of Mortholme a power fantasy?

No. The listing's own review notes that movement and attacks are slow, there is a delay between input and the attack landing, and the Hero dodges well. The game is a deliberate, souls-like fight rather than a fast power fantasy, so expect to work for your wins.
