Is Bodycam completely free?

Yes, this pre-installed build of Bodycam (v0.8.12.19346) is offered as a free download. The game is in Early Access on Steam, and purchasing it there supports the developers and gives you automatic updates.

How do I install Bodycam?

Extract the 50.7 GB archive into a Windows Defender exclusion folder, install any required apps from the Redist or _CommonRedist folder, open Steam and log in, then run Bodycam.exe as administrator from inside the game folder.

Can I play Bodycam online with friends?

Yes. The build ships with the online fix, so co-op and multiplayer work over the internet through the game's lobby and invite system — as long as every player runs the exact same v0.8.12.19346 version.

Why does Windows Defender flag the game as a trojan?

The online-fix files use injection techniques that trigger antivirus heuristics. This is a known behavior tied to the fix mechanism, not the game itself. Extracting into an exclusion folder prevents the files from being quarantined.

Why am I stuck at 'waiting for connection' or getting a 'no license' error?

Make sure Steam is open and logged in before launching the game, and confirm every player is on build v0.8.12.19346. Restarting Steam from Task Manager resolves most stuck-connection cases.

What are the system requirements for Bodycam?

You need Windows 10/11 (64-bit), an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X or Intel Core i7-10700K, 16 GB RAM, an AMD RX 6600 XT (8 GB) or NVIDIA RTX 3060 (12 GB), a broadband connection, and 50 GB of free space.
